PREPOSITION (KATA DEPAN)

 Preposition (kata depan)  merupakan salah satu bagian dari English grammar. Preposition juga termasuk kedalam part of speech yang 8 itu. Adapun pengertian preposition adalah kata yang digabungkan dengan noun ( kata benda ) atau pronoun ( kata ganti ), membentuk phrase (frasa) yang menerangkan verb, noun, dan adjective (kata sifat).

Berikut adalah beberapa preposition beserta contohnya :

1. In             : di dalam

Contohnya adalah you swim in the beach

2. On           : di atas, pada

Contohnya adalah Rani shall take the doll on the cupboard

3. At            : di, pada 

Contohnya adalah I stay at home

4. With       : dengan, bersama

Contohnya adalah I go awalk with my friends

5. By           : dengan, oleh (sama)

Contohnya adalah the lion killed by Hunter

6. Since       : semenjak

Contohnya adalah she has eaten the meet all since a week

7. For           : Untuk, selama

Contohnya adalah I Will buy the food for my sister

8. From        : Dari

Contohnya adalah Robert come from Polandia

10. Beside   : disamping 

Contohnya adalah Cindy was surfing beside Melly

11. Besides  : disamping

Contohnya adalah he has a car besides a bycicle

12. Among    : Diantara

Contohnya adalah my motorcycle I park Among bycicle and Ruben's motorcycle

14. Between : Diantara

Contohnya adalah Renold walk between Roger and Michael

15. Above     : diatas 

Contohnya adalah we sit above the roof

16. Behind    : dibelakang

Contohnya adalah I play the football behind the home

17. Below     : dibawah

Contohnya adalah the test score were below our expectation

18. Under     : dibawah

Contohnya adalah the cat put the fish under the dining table

19. Next to   : disebelah 

Contohnya adalah She found the key next to the cabinet

20. Beyond    : Diluar, melibihi, melampaui

Contohnya adalah his kindness ia beyond the limit

21. In front of : di depan

Contohnya adalah they search the father in front of the house

22. Instead of  : dari pada

Contohnya adalah I like the tea instead of the milk

23. Into        : kedalam

Contohnya adalah we  bring the refrigerator into the shop

24. To         : ke, kepada, untuk

Contohnya adalah I Will go to the my office

25. Toward   : Menuju

Contohnya adalah our journey toward enemy's headquarters

26. Until      : sampai, hingga

Contohnya adalah he Will sleep until morning

27. Of           : dari

Contohnya adalah my friend take your pen of the bag
